Since former U.S. President Warren G. Harding climbed aboard the very first Skagway street car tour, thousands have joined this unique experience. Along this tour, you’ll explore Skagway in an entertaining way and learn more about this famous Klondike Gold Rush town. Your driver-guide will recount history and share some of the city’s top historical moments throughout the years.
This tour will take place aboard a yellow 1927 sightseeing bus. With a fully costumed driver-guide and this vintage vehicle, you’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time. During the tour, you’ll see the National Historic District Park and surrounding mountain views. Then, stop by the Scenic Overlook to experience some of the best panoramic vistas. You’ll then travel to the Gold Rush Cemetery, where you’ll feel like a pioneer as you tour though the site and listen to fascinating stories of the "Soapy" Smith shootout.
Next, continue this experience towards the childhood home of Alaska’s most famous governor, Sarah Palin. Take a trip through the beautiful neighborhoods of this small community and admire the flower gardens that decorate the streets. Then, as you conclude the tour you'll have the opportunity to stroll and shop along its remarkable streets. See locals dressed up in period costumes, and pretend you're a Gold Rush adventurer in 1897.
