About this St. Augustine, Florida tour

Have you ever felt a touch when no one was there? Walked through a cold spot and felt a shiver in your spine? What was that bump in the night, that inexplicable sound, that shadow that shouldn't be moving?

St. Augustine is filled with such stories. Apparitions. Translucent orbs. Ghostly glimpses. Spirits that just won't leave. Aboard the Trolley of the Doomed, your host will take you by the lighthouse where the daughters of Hezekiah Pittee reside, despite drowning in 1873. Many say their playful voices can still be heard.

You'll visit Tolomoto Cemetery, where you may spot the ghost of five-year-old James P. Morgan clamoring through the branches. And you'll visit Huguenot Cemetery, final resting place of yellow fever victims – except that it's not final, because they're not resting, and they come out at night to remind the living.

Hear the gruesome story of Bishop Verot, the romantic story of the Appomattox tree, or the tragic story of two sisters burned to death in Warden Castle, where their spirits still reside. Learn about the miscreants still hanging around the Old Jail many years after their public hangings. If you love gallows humor and tales from the crypt, this is the tour for you.

      Frighthouse

A beacon for ships, and evidently for ghosts as well, the St. Augustine Lighthouse is so well known for its paranormal activity and ghost sightings that it was featured on the SyFy channel's Ghost Hunters series. While shooting episode 19 in season two, the show claims to have captured the lighthouse-keeper's ghost on film, still keeping watch.
