About this Washington DC tour
See the famous Smithsonian Museum and other magnificent Washington D.C. points of interests on this amphibious tour! After your experience on land, hold on to your seat as you head straight to the Potomac River and make a big splash! On this tour, you’ll experience the area’s most extraordinary sightseeing excursion while riding in an authentic, fully restored DC Duck vehicle.
These vehicles were created in 1942 following the attack on Pearl Harbor and became a vital source to transport supplies from ships, to areas that did not have port facilities. The vehicles were built by encasing two and a half ton GM trucks in a watertight shell. Now, one of the most entertaining ways to sightsee in Washington DC, the DC Ducks take you on a journey through the city to see various malls, monuments, and museums before heading to the Potomac for a leisure cruise on the river.
Along the way, your expert guide will provide intriguing facts, historical accounts, and tales about the capital city. The best part about this tour is that it all takes place in one vehicle, without you ever having to leave your seat! Once in the river, the DC Duck will sail past various spots of interest, including Gravely Point, where you may catch a glimpse of an airplane overhead as it soars in for a landing at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Please make your way to Union Station at 50 Massachusetts Ave NE Washington DC 20001
Please check in at least 30 minutes prior to boarding or your seats may be released. Ducks are closed during the Fall and Winter Seasons (November to March). Ducks do not operate on National Marathon Day, Sunday of Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Marine Corps Marathon.
Whilst there is not much walking involved, you must be able to get on and off the vehicle without assistance or with the aid of a traveling companion.
