      About this Charleston tour

Don't fret if you lose count of the smiling faces you see in one hour on the streets of Charleston. Having won several "America's Friendliest" awards, the "Holy City" exudes warmth by the church-full. Come see a proud and happy city over 300 years in the making.

Charleston has aged gracefully for a city well past its tricentennial. As one of the only places in the colonies to tolerate all Protestant religions, Charleston is home to a variety of well-preserved religious architecture, including one of only two remaining Huguenot (French Protestant) churches in America and the second-oldest African Methodist Episcopal church in the world.

Experience hundreds of years' worth of Southern charm in 30 blocks, including colorful Rainbow Row, the longest row of Georgian row houses in the U.S. It's one of the most popular photo spots in a town where people hold tight to their rich history and welcome visitors with an easy smile.

      Horse sense

Draft horses are known for their strength, patience, and docility, which make them perfect for the work they do. The Percheron breed, which originated in the Perch region of France, is the closest modern descendant of medieval warhorses. Proud, intelligent, and alert, they're a common sight on the cobblestone streets of the historic district, beloved by visitors and residents alike.
